I’m having a bit of hard time trying to word this, but for me the parallel here is obvious. Of course, Belle doesn’t jump to take an arrow for Rumple (I’m not touching any spoilery stuff) as Charming did, but their first priority is their loved ones well-being. Both have no illusions (or warm feelings) for Regina. And now I’m gonna quote Presh cause she worded it beautifully:

…Since they’re both the ‘supportive’ partner as opposed to the ‘decision maker’ (Rumple’s poor decisions being the main reason for any strife in his relationship with Belle) in the relationship and just…I’m getting gender feelings…

UPD: (since I forgot to write it earlier) Also they are both the ones to reach out physically in their respective conversations.

I love how Rumpelstiltskin looks at Charming’s arm as he starts to thrust the paper him and how he’s just a tiny bit startled but isn’t bothered by this in the least. (I also love the touch of grey there.) I love Charming and Rumpelstiltskin, just continue to get in each other’s way.

One day I want to see this happening.
