One of things I find most annoying is that out of misguided politeness or kindness to spare feelings, no one will tell me if I’m annoying them. Not really. Except one person.
They’re fine with saying “Can you be quiet?” Then I say “Okay. Just tell me when it’s okay to talk.” Twenty minutes later. “Okay, I finished that level you can talk.”
I’m like a dog. Say sit, I’ll sit. Say stay, and I will stay. Say be quiet, then I’ll be quiet. It’s a really very simple system just no one can figure it out. You might be thinking “Why don’t you know when to be quiet?” My answer is “I can’t read minds. Not everyone is blunt and honest as I am about what I’m thinking or feeling.” To make it even more simple add a reason why I should listen. It’s a simple system.
I tell people to be quiet with a “Sshhh” or “I’m watching this, I really love this show. Please go away.” If I have to “Can you shut up, please? Thank you very much.”
Human race ask. Ask for what you want. Instead of being annoyed with people. I ask if I’m annoying people but I rather they have the courage to say so themselves.
